Tuner and Model… Jessica Le

Last month we featured a Lexus IS300 from Tampa, FL for the January 2011 Ronin feature. The car and the driver are best known as Jtezza.  Usually most project cars/ builds are predominantly done by guys.  It is unusual to see a girl be so infatuated with her sports car that they turn it into a hobby and join the tuner world.  Luckily for us we were able to find this rare jewel and showed everyone how she got down & dirty…..in transforming her Lexus IS300 of course.  She proved to all of us that you don’t need balls to drift a car, litterally,  just passion, love, and dedication to the sport.  Better yet! you can even look good while doing it (if you’re a guy this statement does not apply to you, so don’t try anything weird).

And for those of you that were wondering; “this Jessica Le is probably ugly &/or fat if she’s into cars.”  Well you might want to think twice about that….You couldn’t be more mistaken.  Let the pictures do all the talking.  You met the car, now meet the girl behind the wheel.    And get to know her a little bit better.

You seemed to enjoy being a model, what got you started? Do you see yourself doing this for the long term?
I began through photography- a buddy of mine was starting his photography career and needed a model. After practice and as new ideas began to arise, we started producing some awesome shots. That was nearly 4 years and what seems like a million shoots ago and looking back- I never thought I would love it even this much. So many opportunities continue to present themselves and each one has become a new adventure and I would love to continue for as long as possible.

So did modeling come naturally to you?

Some aspects did- My facial expressions were descent, as with my posture, but the bravery and exaggeration it took to make the photos perfect was something I had to learn.
What is the best part about being a model besides cameras snapping at you nonstop?
The ability to take ideas out of my head, dress up, and bring it to life in photos. Even at shows- it’s always the end result and looking back that gives me that accomplished feeling.
Do you see yourself making a career of modeling?
I feel that I already have. I now am aspiring to enter other aspects of the automotive industry including an event coordinator and having my own shows! Modeling has really gotten my foot in the door and will always be one of my biggest passions.

Outside of modeling, do you have any other career aspirations?
Most people don’t belive this- but I actually love my car, and if I can find a way to build a career around it profitably I definitely will, but I enjoy racing it, occasionally drifting it, and it’s always fun to leave little cocky boys a few cars back, hahaha. Also I have this dream of being a lawyer one day.

What is the most awkward moment you’ve encountered in modeling?
I once dressed up as a fallen angel, with black wings and all, and did a shoot outside of a catholic church on a mid Saturday when it seemed to be fairly empty. LOL that was until a wedding party, including the priest came out the front door… all I could do was run.

Best moment?
When I finally started seeing my pics in important places, like websites and such.
On a typical weekend, where can we find you or what are you doing when you’re not modeling?
Lol- track, car meets, or as cliché as it sounds- doin some good old street racing… And those are really my only hobbies…

What do you have a weakness for?

Mcdonalds, and Bad boys (lol not really together)

What message do you have to aspiring models trying to start out in the industry?
Practice practice practice, never make it a job and it needs to be like a reflex, even today I am always so excited for a shoot because I know it will turn out good- I have the ability to make sure it does.

Do you drive the IS much?
Daily driver- everyday- all the time, that car is my pride and joy. Somehow it became like a trademark for me, I guess since I actually do most the work on it myself and I guess that’s somewhat unbelievable.

What is your dream car?

I have quite a few. I would love to try out the new LFA though, which I was able to do the first official shoot with at the Orlando Festival of Speed with my good friend and photographer Brandon Connelly. In case you live under a rock and haven’t heard of it, its Lexus’s supercar, go look it up.
