Horrific Crash @ Sebring International Raceway

During testing for this weekend’s 12 Hour of Sebring, located 1hr from Orlando, FL; Intersport Racing’s Jon Field, had a horrible crash that completely destroy there #37 AER-powered Lola B06/10 LMP1 race car.  The race car went airborne and flipped a few times in the ground before landing straight up.  The accident happened between turn 9 and 10 of the 3.7 mile long track, which is composed of a total of 17 turns.

After sorting through the damage, the team determined the driver experienced a failure to the right rear suspension while traveling in a straight line.

Fortunately, the driver was released a few hours later with no reported injuries from Highlands Regional Medical Center.

Prior to the crash, the Intersport Lola-AER had posted the fastest time of the afternoon session.
